June Road Trip

A DAY IN JUNE
by James Russell Lowell

And what is so rare as a day in June?
Then, if ever, come perfect days;
Then Heaven tries earth if it be in tune,
And over it softly her warm ear lays;
Whether we look, or whether we listen,
We hear life murmur, or see it glisten;
Every clod feels a stir of might,
An instinct within it that reaches and towers,
And, groping blindly above it for light,
Climbs to a soul in grass and flowers.

ARTICHOKE FLOWER

Our sweet garden we leave in caring hands,
While off we explore far away lands.
She has given us a bite of bounty to come,
So sweet and pure, how awesome!
We hope the ones that water and love,
Will be blessed by the fruits from our maker above.

ROADS GO EVER ON AND ON
J.R.R. Tolkien
Roads go ever on and on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where sun has never shone,
By streams that never find the sea;
Over snow by winter sown,
And through the merry flowers of June,
Over grass and over stone,
And under mountains in the moon.
