The Greastest Show on Earth

A first visit to the CIRCUS
July 28, 2011

This tightrope walker jumps over three tightrope walkers! If I were a nail biter, I would have little nail remaining after visiting the circus where people perform such amazing feats.

San Pedro Fish Market

APRIL 7 Today we met with friends for a stroll through the San Pedro Fish Market. The fish, whole, packed on ice and neatly lined captured our attention. Not only could one purchase a fresh catch to take home, but many customers had theirs cooked and served right there on the wharf.

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide

Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;

And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,

And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea gulls crying.

Harvest Time at Riley's Farm

This year at Riley's Farm the children enjoyed what life was like on the homestead way back when...
James, not quite trusting those horns!
Friends enjoying a hay ride!

Hand washing the clothes

Thinking about dinner

Churning butter

Old games

...and caramel apples

Sticky chewy caramel...
