Day 4

June 7, 2010

On this day we wanted to get to know Boise and the little towns surrounding so off we ventured in our car. We drove the roads of Boise, Meridian, Kuna, Eagle and Star. As the noon hour approached and our tummies wanted to be filled we searched for a fun place to eat. Flatbread Community Oven interested us, so we parked nearby and soon were seated at the patio.

Julia and James can be seen walking on the little cement wall. This grassy area was nice for them to run around on as they had been in the car for many hours over the past several days.

Such a fun menu they had for children. Julia and James were able to put the sauce and cheese on their dough and then watch it cook in the oven. Our pizza, sandwich, and salad were so wonderful; we look forward to returning in several days with my parents! Yes, my dad and mom are on a road trip as well and our paths will soon intersect in Meridian.

EAGLE, ID
I snapped this picture of a beautiful farm as we were driving down the road.
Seeing all the beautiful farmland in Boise after experiencing horseback riding in Zion, makes us dream of having our own fertile land with a farm house and horses of our own!
The birds here are just beautiful and their song is in the air! We keep seeing birds everywhere that are so rare to my eyes. ~ Magpie (the tail is so long), Western Tanager (with its vibrant red/yellow/black colors), Pheasant, Quail, American Robin, Red-Winged Blackbird, and Yellow-Headed Blackbird. I am so thankful for my Audubon bird guide app to help me quickly identify these flying creatures.

DOWNTOWN BOISE
Julia Davis Park
Such a beautiful and fragrant ROSE garden!
I want one of these to enjoy too:)
