Albuquerque Balloons

Day 9

October 1, 2011

On the last day of September we left Durango, Colorado and drove south to Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Destination = FRIENDS.  We were blessed with being guests at the home of our dearest friends for a week.  We arrived in the afternoon after waiting for over a year to visit our friends in their new home town; there were hugs and there was laughter, play and exploration before dinner and an early bed time.  We had to wake at the 4 o'clock hour to make it to the balloon park.  This was the first day of the 40th annual Balloon Fiesta.  It was our first time to New Mexico and a first at being up close to hot air balloons!  It was beautiful.
